Residents crowded in to see a presentation Tuesday on reported increases in rain strength and frequency in Lake County and the region, as well as a projected long-term continuation of that pattern and what it might mean for the future.
I am extremely fortunate that my work as County Chair lets me explore every part of our wonderful community. Lake County’s great diversity is a strength and source of great pride to me. In the times we live in, it is important that we come together in our communities to make sure all our residents feel welcome and that we all set a positive example with our actions and our words.
Led by the Lake County Coalition for the Homeless, Lake County Government and the Lovell Federal Healthcare Center, Lake County is now among a small group of communities throughout the nation that has been recognized for ending veteran homelessness.

Citing a lack of support from Lake County officials and financial constraints, Illinois Tollway officials announced Friday that they are ending their current multimillion-dollar efforts toward a Route 53 extension north of Lake Cook Road.
