I hope this email finds you well. Early voting is well underway, and the Clerk O'Connor is reporting record turnout. To avoid waiting in long lines, the Clerk's Office is offering a map (see below) that shows the estimated wait time at each site. Remember that you can use any early voting site you choose, now through November 1st.
I hope this email finds you safe and healthy. There is, as usual, so much happening in Lake County. Most importantly, September is Suicide Awareness Month. We can all make a difference in saving the life of a loved one, or even an acquaintance, by understanding the warning signs of suicidal ideation.
Lake County News-Sun, September 11, 2020
More than two dozen residents, including members of environmental groups such as the Sierra Club and STOP EtO in Lake County, voiced strong support for a resolution passed by the Lake County Board that aims to attain net zero greenhouse gas emissions in phases.
On Tuesday, the Climate Action Plan Resolution passed almost unanimously, with only one “present” vote by board member Brent Paxton.
There are several important events taking place in September and I wanted to make sure they were on your calendar. Most importantly, please note that September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for ages 10 to 34 and the fourth leading cause of death for ages 35 to 54, and is too often the result of mental health conditions that affect people when they are most vulnerable. If your or someone you love needs help, please call 211 or the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
